Your credit card will be charged for the full amount of your booking at the time the reservation is made. This payment is processed through the secure Windcave payment system. The name that will appear on your statement will be Distinction Luxmore Ltd. Any credit card details stored for payments are done so on the Windcave system. No credit card information is stored by us and Windcave protects personal information – at a minimum – to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (“PCI-DSS”).
All rates are in NZ dollars and are on a per night basis including GST. Te Anau Central Backpackers will not reimburse adverse fluctuations due to foreign exchange.
BEST AVAILABLE NON REFUNDABLE RATES AND STAY & SAVE RATES
Your credit card will be charged for the full amount at the time the reservation is made. No refunds are permitted on accommodation bookings. In the case where cancellation or amendment of a booking is required, the full quoted amount of the reservation will be charged. Guests requiring alternative accommodation dates will need to rebook, no amendments/transfers permitted. A maximum of 2 rooms can be booked on Stay & Save rates. Please note these Stay & Save rates are not valid for events & conferences.
FLEXI FREE CANCELLATION RATES
Your credit card will be charged for the full amount at the time the reservation is made, however you may amend or cancel your booking up to 24 hours prior to arrival and a full refund will be issued upon cancellation. In the case of a no show or a cancellation inside 24 hours, the total price of the reservation will not be refunded.
PACKAGE RATES

CHECK IN / CHECK OUT POLICY
Check in time is 2pm at Te Anau Central Backpackers, 29 Mokonui Street, Te Anau, New Zealand. If earlier check in time is required please request this at the time of booking. Our office is open from 9am - 6 pm daily. If you arrive outside of these hours please phone 03 249 9034 and a staff member will be able to assist with your check-in.
Check out time is before 10am. If a late checkout is required please request from Reception when you check in at the hostel. Early check-ins and late checkout’s are not guaranteed and are at the discretion of Management / Reception Staff.
HOSTEL RULES
Valid photo id in the form of a Driver License or Passport is required at check-in. You will also be asked to present a valid credit card on arrival. If you do not have a valid credit card, then a cash security deposit of $100 per night may be requested on check in.
Under 18’s cannot stay in any shared rooms with other guests that are not part of the family or group, however they can stay in private rooms when accompanied by an adult over 18 yrs. Failure to adhere to this rule will result in automatic cancellation with no refund given. Children rates apply to 12 years and under.
Guests are required to conduct themselves in a reasonable and responsible manner at the Hostel and must not act in any way which may disturb other guests. Failure to adhere to this requirement may result in Guests being evicted in which event all additional charges & any damages shall become immediately payable by the guest.
We have a no party, no noise policy for the comfort of guests. Failure to follow this policy will result in eviction from the hostel. We request that no visitors are received at the hostel after 10pm. No refunds will be given.
Smoking and vaping are not permitted at any time inside the Hostel or in most outdoor areas. It is only permitted in the designated outdoor smoking area, located near the front entrance.
Guests may not consume or store food and drinks (other than water or items place by the hostel within the room) in their rooms. Alcohol may not be consumed in any room at any time.
Any guest who tampers with or sets off any fire protection device including alarms, smoke detectors or sprinklers through active negligence such as smoking/vaping in the building, will be asked to leave the property immediately without refund and will be liable to pay the fire service call out charge (if applicable).
Fiordland is home to rare & endangered birds. In order to protect them no animals are allowed in the Hostel with the exception of guide dogs and support animals.
